State of the Nation, or blog, or book..... Update!

So this is where we are at with the release of Lost in Distraction (Lost #1).

Release day is April 10th, 2013.

I'm currently finishing my final read through before my editor has a super quick last look over it, catching any hiding little mistakes that might have snuck in there, then its off to the formatter, ready to be released on Amazon, Smashwords, iBooks and Kobo on Wednesday 10th April.

Book 2 - The name for Book 2 is announced at the end of Lost in Distraction and I can't wait for you all to see it. I'm over halfway through writing it and I'm loving the development and complexity involved in this story.

Lost #2 will be the last book in this series

I also have two stand alone books in the works:

Temporary Bliss - GR Link
&
The World We Don't Know - GR Link

I'm really excited about these books, especially Temporary Bliss as it is very different from what I've written before.

I would love you to keep spreading the word about Lost in Distraction's upcoming release, when I reach 600 likes on my FB Author Page I will let you in on a secret post coming on March 30th.

Competition Time

**Competition is now over, April Merriman was the winner with her suggestion of Silas**

I'm needing to name a male character for Book 2 of the Lost series which I am currently writing.

This is where I need your help :)

I need your suggestions.

He is approx 30-35 years old. Described as creepy, wily, almost albino in appearance. He has bad intentions and nobody knows where he has come from, who he is working for, and what he wants. Think of the creeper from The Bodyguard movie with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, its in that kind of league.

What you will win:
$10 Amazon voucher
Named in the acknowledgements in Book 2 of the Lost series
Free e-book copy of Lost in Distraction upon release
Bragging rights!

There will also be an additional 2 x $5 Amazon gift cards given away out of those who share this post :)

Competition ends Friday 15th March 11.59pm.

So hit me with your best shot in the comments.

Last teaser from Lost in Distraction before release day

I wake up on top of Brax, still lying on the couch. I can hear music playing on the television, and by the light streaming in the front window, it’s definitely morning. I try to get off him and feel his arm tighten around me. I look over and see his bright blue eyes staring back at me. How can someone wake up and look that sexy? We lie there, just staring at each other. Now I’m not sure what to do, I’ve just spent my first night ever sleeping in a man’s arms and my mind is focussed on the feeling of Brax’s hard body underneath me.

He feels good, way too good. I wonder how he feels about me lying on top of him. I try to move again and he tightens his arm, that tell-tale smirk of his gets larger than life.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he says, his voice is husky from sleeping and it's making my insides clench. Damn that is sexy.

“I thought you might be uncomfortable having me lying on you all night” I try to explain, losing my train of thought while staring at his mouth. His lips are begging to be kissed but I’ve never been one to initiate things. His eyes are all-knowing, like he can hear my inner-most thoughts.

His grin slowly disappears as his gaze shifts to my mouth. I lean down to gently nip his bottom lip as he opens his mouth to let me in. My fingers take on a mind of their own as they run through his bed hair, pulling his head closer to mine. It feels so natural to be waking up to him, to kiss him. Is this what love is supposed to be like? Am I in love with Brax? I can’t deny that I’m falling for him, and his kisses are the perfect antidote for any bad nightmare.

We pull our mouths apart, breathless and full of desire. I giggle and he quirks his eyebrow at me.

“Is kissing me funny?” he asks, grinning at my laughter.

“I just figured I’d have morning breath, I’m so sorry” I try saying between laughs. He pulls me down to him again and kisses me deeply, plunging my mouth with his tongue. He pulls away so that our lips are barely touching.

“I don’t care,” he whispers. I feel his hands roam down my shoulders, around my waist and slowly inch down to my ass as he pulls me even closer to him. I gasp when I feel how much he wants me, he feels devine. This time it’s me that has to pull away because if know if I don’t, I won’t be able to control myself and I’m not quite ready for that kind of interaction.

Leaning my forehead against his, I try to calm my racing heartbeat. It feels like it is going to beat out of my chest.

“That’s to prove how delicious your morning breath is babe.” He kisses my nose and lifts his shoulders up, propping himself up onto his elbows, giving me the opportunity to roll off the couch.

“Now, where is my coffee? I need my reward for being your knight in shining armour.”
